Four verticals

The SSL ecosystem

Each vertical addresses a distinct gap in how the creative industry meets artificial intelligence: education, research, venture support, and creator economy infrastructure.

Vertical 01
StoryOS
AI-Native Curriculum · LMS

A structured curriculum and learning management system for AI-native storytelling. Cohort-based programmes across Vertical Drama, Visual Novel, Kinetic Novel, and Interactive Character. Each programme produces publishable creative work through disciplined human-AI collaboration.

About

Research first. Built to last.

Smart Story Labs was founded by Dr Amritha Subhayan Krishnan, a researcher and curriculum architect working at the intersection of narrative media, artificial intelligence, and digital policy. The lab is based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

SSL's work begins in research and ends in infrastructure: frameworks, curricula, and platforms that give film schools, agencies, research institutions, and creative startups the tools to operate in an AI-native media environment.

The Authenticity Lens is SSL's flagship research output and the first three-marker framework for systematically identifying AI-generated media across technical, aesthetic, and narrative dimensions. It is the foundation on which InsightOS and CreatorOS are built.

Questions

Common questions

What does SSL actually build?
SSL builds four things: a curriculum and LMS for AI-native storytelling (StoryOS); a research and provenance framework for identifying AI-generated media (InsightOS / Authenticity Lens); strategic support infrastructure for creative AI startups (VentureOS); and IP licensing and revenue tools for individual creators (CreatorOS). Each vertical is independently deployable and licensable.
What is the Authenticity Lens?
The Authenticity Lens is SSL's flagship research output — a three-marker framework for systematically detecting AI-generated media. It analyses content across Technical markers (C2PA provenance data, metadata forensics), Aesthetic markers (visual and sonic signature analysis), and Narrative markers (structural and linguistic profiling). A working browser-based prototype is available for verified partners.
How does SSL work with film schools and universities?
SSL offers institutional licensing of the StoryOS curriculum, co-development of research outputs, and deployment of the Authenticity Lens for academic media verification. Engagement typically begins with a research partnership or pilot cohort. Contact us to discuss what a partnership would look like for your institution.
Is SSL's research published openly?
Yes. SSL's research papers are available on SSRN and through AI and Partners. All published outputs are open access. The Authenticity Lens framework documentation is available to verified institutional partners. The working prototype is available under a restricted access agreement.
How do I engage with SSL as a partner or funder?
Use the contact form on this page or write directly to the address below. SSL is currently in active conversation with institutional partners for the first StoryOS deployment, and is open to research collaboration, funding partnerships, and licensing discussions.
